Hafary participated in SingaPlural 2016 "Senses - The art and science of experiences" from 7-13 March. The 2016 edition was an event which aims to celebrate design by engaging the senses of the visitor. Hafary is excited to be part of the Design Festival and has collaborated with architectural firm WY-TO on a playful and interactive installation named "Tile it up".
Tile it up invites you to step into an interactive installation covering the large spectrum of Hafary products. The structures create various multi-sensory experiences. Visitors are engaged through visual and touch stimulations. Tile it up will change the preconceived ideas of tiles by exploring alternative ways to feature and experience them.
The creative design studio WY-TO rethinks tiles as an integrated component of design. This experiential installation reveals the wide range of products of the leader of tiles supplier in Singapore - Hafary - in surprising set-ups. Bodies and movements are in constant interaction with the immediate environment. While vision is considered as the dominant sense, the sense of touch is the unconscious of vision that also provides three-dimensional information of the material. From contemplative to participatory activities, bodies will be experiencing different settings, textures and finishes.
